Motion Graphics

This project is an animated ident created as part of a Motion 2 assignment at ArtCenter College of Design. It explores how to capture the playful and chaotic spirit of the Nickelodeon brand in just a few seconds, using rhythm, sound, and graphic language to bring the identity to life. The look is vibrant, filled with organic shapes, bold colors, and of course, the classic green slime.

The animation is inspired by the origin of the name Nickelodeon. The word first appeared in the early 20th century in the United States, combining “nickel,” a five-cent coin, with “odeon,” from Greek, meaning theater or performance space. Nickelodeons were small, affordable movie theaters that showed short films to the public.

In the project, a coin is inserted into a slot, as if triggering the start of a show. From that moment on, we’re taken into the magical world of Nick, revealing an explosion of fun, bright colors, and the iconic neon slime.
